TUTOR: So, how is the field-trip report progressing?
MINA: Quite well. We collected soil samples from three different sites · the meadow, the woodland edge, and the riverbank.
LEO: Yes, and the meadow site had by far the highest worm count, which honestly surprised both of us.
MINA: We measured the pH levels too. The riverbank sample turned out to be slightly alkaline, at 7.4.
LEO: The only real problem was that our first microscope images weren't sharp, because the lens hadn't been cleaned properly.
MINA: We fixed that on the second day, though.
TUTOR: I've read your draft. The methodology section is very clear and well organised. However, the conclusion needs more comparison with last year's data before you submit.
LEO: Understood. We'll add that. And we should hand in the final draft by Thursday, not Friday, because the lab closes early at the end of the week.
